When my nephew was here in January he proposed to his girlfriend and I captured it with my camera. I was inspired to make a layout about it immediately but never got around to showing it here.

I used shipping tags, actual Scrabble tiles bought on etsy, black glitter letter stickers from GCD Studios, small letter and number stickers from Making Memories, and I think the woodland themed paper in the background is from Studio Calico.

I also used a Prima flower and crystals, two of my favorite things!

I signed up at the CSI Project again this month to bring you projects with flowers. My blog is mainly scrapbooking, so those are the kinds of flowers that I have on hand.

Here I just simply embellished a Chinese takeout gift box by wrapping some ribbon around it and adding a flower from Michaels and 2 leaf pins from Maya Road. Very easy peasy!

Here’s a card I did with some Doodlebug flower stickers that I adhered with pop dots so they’d pop off the page and added some ribbon from American Crafts for their stems. I also used a Tattered Angels mist as the background.

Here’s another card I made very quickly. Each flower is made from ribbon and then put together into the shape of a heart. I bought this already in the heart shape on etsy from Little Red Cottage.

For more projects I’ve done using flowers, you can see my breast cancer awareness bra here and my digital photo frame here for starters. Come visit my blog for scrapbooking and paper crafting and some DIY painting posts thrown in once in a while.

Check this out! I have teamed up with the CSI Project to tell you about this gun. I recently received a Wagner HT3500 digital heat gun to review and see how I liked it in my little scrapbooking world. The HT3500 is the first digital heat gun introduced into the DIY market. Here’s what I did with it:

I started out with this pretty dandelion stamp from Stampendous and used a Ranger embossing pad to stamp it onto my cardstock.

Then I dumped some Ranger clear embossing powder onto it while it was wet.

After pouring the excess back into the jar, it looks like a frosted dandelion.

And then after heating it up with the heat gun and melting the embossing power, it looks shiny and pretty!

All in all, it’s pretty neat. It works great. Touch-pads activate 12 different temperature settings from 250° to 1350° F, so you can set the temp for whatever temperature your particular project needs. I left mine where it was when I took it out of the box, but if I were going to strip some paint I would turn it up obviously.

A cool feature that it has is there’s no off button. When you’re done, you put it in cool down mode and set it down wherever (upright) and it will cool itself down and then shut off.

I don’t know if this is a standard thing with heat guns or not, but for my particular project in the scrapbooking studio I didn’t like this feature because I have paper everywhere and didn’t like sitting that thing down on my counter space for fear of knocking it over (because I’m accident prone). I do like this gun better than the one that I’m using which is specifically for scrapbooking (embossing) because it heated up faster and didn’t take as long to melt the embossing powder. However, I do think it would also be nice if I were melting some paint or doing another project with it. Stripping paint is actually what I’m going to try next!

Wagner’s website says it’s ideal for removing multiple types of paint, remove flooring, rusted bolts, thawing frozen pipes and much more. I never thought about using it for rusted bolts! Here’s a link to it on Amazon: Wagner heat gun. Now I’m off to do some stripping (paint!).

I made these for a gift for Christmas using photos of the person’s dogs cause they’re so cute (I took the photos too!) I have seen this a million times on the internet and wanted to make some. I printed off the photos onto regular printer paper because I thought it might be easier to adhere to the tiles. I went to Lowe’s and bought the 4×4 ceramic (?) tiles with finished edges and just Mod Podged the paper photos to each tile and then put a few coats of Mod Podge on top, letting each coat dry a few days in between.

A while back I saw on a gal’s blog where she had decorated her ugly ole digital photo frame and made it all pretty with scrapbooking paper and stuff, and I knew I wanted to do that with mine. I got this for Christmas in 2010 and haven’t set it up yet and I feel bad about it because my hubby put a lot of thought into this gift for me. So I finally got going and fixed it up pretty for my living room.

Here’s what it looked like before:

I used scrapbooking paper, Prima flowers and Prima crystal swirls. Here’s what it looks like now:

And here’s a closeup of the flowers. Love Prima flowers!

Much better, huh?

The polka dotted paper is from BoBunny’s Peacock Lane line. The stamp is from Hero Arts. Inside I stamped happy birthday, but it would also be nice as a card just to tell someone they’re special.

Here’s a project I did recently that was shown on Practical Scrappers yesterday.

My aunt asked me to make her this special little scrapbook. She had written this little poem book type thing for my cousin (her nephew) for his 18th birthday. He passed away unexpectedly a year later and she received this back from his mother as a keepsake. She laminated it and has been carrying it around in her wallet ever since, but she wanted something more substantial so she asked me to do something with it.

I used a 7Gypsies chipboard tag album that looked like this before I started:

And I decorated with paper she picked out and then just prettied up the front. Here’s the after:

This is what she was carrying around:

I actually scanned all the little pages and printed them out onto white cardstock so she could keep the originals. I covered every page (tag) in the album with black cardstock and just adhered my little pages in order to each one.

It’s a cute little poem, so I thought I would share the inner pages with you here. If you can’t see them well enough, just click on each photo and give it a second to adjust and it will be just the right size.

My aunt was so thrilled with this, and I was so happy to be able to give her a special keepsake of one of her nephews.

What do you think?
