On Your Wedding Day…

August 3rd, 2010

I was asked to make a wedding card for my granddaughter to take to a wedding at the last minute (cause that’s how we roll….) and I went with black and white thinking it would look elegant.  I used a gorgeous rose stamp from Papertrey Ink.  It’s from their A Year Of Flowers line where every so often they make a different flower stamp.  They’re all beautiful but not in my budget.  The words stamp is from them also.

This was only the second time I ever heat embossed something and I was still figuring it out.  I used this “white” embossing powder, thinking it would look white when it was melted (or whatever the official term is) but instead it just made it black and a bit sparkly.  Is that because my paper was black?  I will have to experiment some more and see what happens.  Or google it and learn from someone else’s mistakes!

What do you think?  Do you think the black and white is depressing for a wedding card?  ha!  I hope not!

maybe it was clear embossing powder? Thats what I use if I heat emboss and it just melts to the colour of your ink
