Delight.
Last week at Practical Scrappers the design team was supposed to do a project using embossing in some way. I had actually never done embossing with embossing powder and a heat gun before, but I did have the supplies to do it so I figured no time like the present, right? Here’s what I made:
I stamped some stripes onto the garden hose then dumped some white embossing powder on there and used my heat gun to activate it. It was a lot easier than I had imagined and I don’t know why I waited so long to try it! I incorporated embossing another way by using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and punching the butterfly out of embossed cardstock. I love that kind of cardstock because the work is already done for you! I learned that putting white embossing powder on green cardstock does not turn out looking white. Told ya I had never done it before. ha ha
The only thing that’s bugging me about this page is that section of “hose” in the upper left corner. I don’t think I like it and I want to take it off but I’m undecided. What do YOU think?

I mentioned the other day that Edie and I doubled up on our photos this week over at Sunday Shutterbugs. And I showed you my nature photo. Here’s my take on the noun assignment.
I sort of had a hard time with it, even though it sounds pretty easy. But with “person, place, or thing” the possibilites are endless! ha ha So after a rain storm I went outside and looked around because everything always looks more interesting after a rain, I think. And this is what I saw:

One of the recent challenges at Practical Scrappers was for us to use glitter or flocking on a layout. I had these old photos from Easter 2003 lying around and decided to get them into the scrapbook once and for all. I took an Easter egg sticker from Reminisce and put some spray adhesive and glitter on it.
I also dipped the actual egg dipper into glitter to make it sparkly!

Forgot to tell you this last Thursday! We have a winner!
I put all the comments on strips of paper and put them in a bowl. I had my girl pick out a number from the bowl. She picked #7. This means that Sable is the winner of the CSN Stores $40 gift card. I have e-mailed her a week ago and have not heard anything from her, so I’m going to try again today to contact her.
Thanks to all of you for entering the giveaway.

Edie and I skipped a week on our photo blog and this week we’re doubling up and doing two photos with the letter N…. Nature and Noun. I’m still working on my noun but……
Here’s my NATURE photo:
Come over and share your photos with us at the Sunday Shutterbugs blog. As always, Edie’s is awesome!

Back in March my husband and daughter and I went to see a movie and had a bit of fun in the photo booth on our way out of the theater. I love our silly photos and have been wanting to scrapbook them ever since and finally did that with a sketch from Practical Scrappers. Here it is!

Here’s another birthday card for a 1-year-old that was a custom order. She just said don’t use pink and the rest was up to me. I dug out my cupcake stamp again and used some Stickles on it to make the frosting sparkly. I like sparkly! The sheet music paper is from a Sassafras Lass catalog and I love it. I’ve almost recycled the whole thing and I’m sad because it’s almost gone.

Here’s another card that I used the Lily of the Valley stamp on for a custom order. (the one from yesterday is here) It’s a wedding card with the requested colors of pink and blue. I colored in the lily this time with colored pencils. That pink scalloped strip of paper is from a Pink Paislee catalog that I recycled!

Forever Sweethearts.
This is a card I did for a custom order for a 15th wedding anniversary. I stamped it with a Lily of the Valley from Papertrey Ink (using their white ink also).
I think I might have been told the wife likes the color purple. I can’t even remember now–isn’t that terrible? Oh, my poor brain…. Anyway, I used a rub-on for the words and tied some twine around it and there you have it!

I wish I could remember where I saw this bag idea, but I can’t, just so you know it was totally not my original idea. I just drew the ties freehand on the back of my patterned paper, cut them out, and then used Glue Dots to stick them on to my paper lunch bags. Took a whole five minutes, which is the best part!
One was for my hubby and the other for my dad. I had made them each a coffee cup with a photo on it.
Aren’t they cute?
