New card today.
My friend Sandie (who keeps me in business making cards for her) called me with a request for a quick birthday card. She told me her granddaughter is 8 and likes purple and is very fashion conscious and loves fashion. After pondering that, I came up with this!
You can’t really tell, but the paper I used to make the skirt is sparkly! And it nearly killed me, but there is no ribbon on this card. Sandie usually mails them to grandkids that live in other states and she doesn’t want to pay extra postage due to my bulky cards! I tried to use a very thin ribbon as a “belt” and tied it around the waist but it was still too bulky so I went with some purple rhinestones instead.
And that black background paper is actually from a catalog!
I used pop dot squares to make it stand up off the card a bit:
