A 40-year-old Dream…
Now that this layout has been shown over on Practical Scrappers, I can show you here. This was for the “use something a year old or more” challenge. My ”something old” would be those butterflies. They’re punched out from a vintage music book, painted with watered down acrylic paint (and then of course Stickles were added on top). I also used a transparency from Hambly Studios called “scrapbooker’s sonata”. I just love the name of that! This is one of my favorite pages I’ve done. I actually used an 8×10 photo on this one, which isn’t something I normally do.

if you’ve been around here any length of time, then you know I have to add some sparkle and bling to it, so I enhanced the swirlie that was already on the paper a bit.
Here it is put together:

Here’s a sneak peek at my project this week over at Practical Scrappers.
Isn’t she adorable? Her name is Rainy Cynthia. Our assignment this week was to use rub-ons, which isn’t what I’m showing you here. It’s a digital stamp from The Stamping Boutique that we were also supposed to use sometime during March and I thought she was perfect for my photos on this layout. Go here to see my entire page and see what the other talented ladies have done.

This week’s contest theme over at I Heart Faces Photography is “black and white dramatic” so I decided to go with my favorite photo of my nephew in his dress greens that I took recently.
This was right after our long drive home from Georgia to Illinois following his basic training graduation. My heart is full of pride for this boy, and I think you can see his own pride in himself finally written on his face.

It’s Monday and that means yesterday Edie and I posted our “G” photos on the Sunday Shutterbugs blog. In keeping with our theme, it had to be a word that began with G and we chose GAME. Go here to check out our pictures and show us yours!

How CUTE does this look?

Get it? This is a another custom order for a 1-year-old girl birthday card. I don’t go too crazy and elaborate for the 1 year olds because they don’t really care anyway! They’d eat the card before they’d sit and appreciate how gorgeous it is, right?. ha! So I went with something 1 year olds like….. a CUPCAKE! That’s a chipboard piece and I added Stickles to the polka dots and the cherry on top (my favorite part–i love how sparkly it is).
Sandie, I hope she loves it! ![]()
Check it out….
Last month I used a sketch from Heidi over at Cropstar to make a scrapbook page and entered her contest to win a prize pack she was giving away on her site. She is one of my fellow design team members over at Practical Scrappers. And I won! Woo hoo! This is it:
Heidi is having another contest for March and you can go here to check that one out. There are 2 sketches she has done and I am loving both of them. I think I’m turning into a sketch user. I don’t know what’s happening!

and that means the Sunday Shutterbugs blog is late! Edie had some trouble over the weekend and couldn’t get her photo posted. But today you can head on over! And we want you to share yours this coming week. Our theme this time is FRUIT. Oh, that damn Edie comes up with such challenging words to take our photos of! But I like to stretch myself and be challenged, and that’s why I signed up with her to do this photo blog. Go here to see our photos this week and share yours!

Here’s a card I made for a custom order. I was told the girl is turning 13 and her room is decorated in bright pink, orange, and lime green! What a color combo, huh? So this is what I put together for her.
