7-8-9-10-11-12.

July 9th, 2009

So yesterday Elizabeth Kartchner posted a challenge on her blog to document in a photo what you were doing at the moment of July 8, 2009 at 10:11:12.  Get it?  7-8-9-10-11-12.  I thought it was a pretty cool thing and there’s a prize involved, so I’m all over that!

Funny thing is, last night at that time I was preparing to go to bed and my daughter and I were lying there having our usual nightly chat in the dark and I grabbed the camera and said we had to take a photo.  And hilarity ensued.  I can’t remember the last time I laughed that hard.  It was dark, so I couldn’t see where the hell I was focusing with the camera.  And I was holding the camera up above us in the air with 2 hands, and that’s not really one of my best capabilities, and every time I’d try to take the photo the flash would BLIND US because it was dark.  The first photo made me laugh SO hard because Summer’s eyeballs look so SCARY.  Oh, I cracked up.  (and why do mine look so bloodshot?  I swear I wasn’t drinking beforehand)  And then it kind of went downhill from there!  So I ended up with a bunch of photos and we laughed so hard I’m not sure how they came out un-blurry.  And I already have in my mind the makings of a scrapbook page with all these goofy funny photos of us.  So thank you Elizabeth for the memory of a fun little few minutes with my daughter!

This next one is probably the best one of the whole bunch.

But I think the last one is my favorite.

Bo Bunny Birthday Layout.

July 8th, 2009

When I first saw this BoBunny birthday paper I LOVED it and knew I had to have it for a layout of my daughter’s birthday party.  Since the paper is 12×12 and I only do 8.5×11 pages, I just cut off the top and bottom portions and used the part of the paper that I really loved in the center of my layout.  The strips of paper are actually strips I cut from the unused portions and I flipped the paper over and used the other side.  Those sparkly letters are from Creative Imaginations and are seriously one of my fave things to use right now.   (click on the photo to see it larger)

Senior Portrait Shoot.

July 7th, 2009

** Let me begin this blog post with the statement that I am in no way a professional photographer!  I am an amateur photographer.  I love it.  Besides scrapbooking it’s my other passion.  My husband knows a little more than I do and he has a different view of things than me, so we have been working together lately on a few photo shoots.  The first one we did was last November when we shot my nephew’s senior portraits.  I’ll show my favorite ones below.

And let me add to that by saying if you’ve not joined www.picnik.com and you are any sort of amateur photographer that wants to adjust their photos or change how their photos look for FREE, you need to go join right now.  My nephew suffers with terrible acne on his face.  Can you tell?  Not so much?  That’s because Picnik rocks!  They have a blemish removal tool and it is fabulous!  So are the tons of other tools they have.

Photo Encouragement Card.

July 1st, 2009

My friend Abby talked on her blog recently about how “slow and steady wins the race” and showed a photo of a snail she took with her phone.  I think the girl must not own a camera; every photo of hers I’ve ever seen I think was taken with her phone!  Anyway, I thought she needed some encouragement and I remembered my wonderful photographer friend Edie had taken an awesome snail photo once and I begged her for it (and she gave it to me) so I asked her permission to use it on a card (and she gave it to me).  So I made this encouragement card for my Abby girl.

Whatcha think?  My friend Edie is a fabulous photographer and has taken many nature photos that I love and my brain is now overflowing with ideas for cards with her photos on them!  What do you say, Edie?
