See this girl?
She needs your help. She needs you to stop what you’re doing right now and pray for her. She is literally fighting for her life.
This kid is only 17 years old and has influenza A (really bad flu virus) and double pneumonia, but last night they discovered she also has MRSA. You might have heard about that one. VERY hard to treat, very resistant to medicines.
Within a 24-hour period on Sunday she was taken to the ER, admitted, diagnosed with pneumonia, took a turn for the worse, was taken to the ICU, was intubated and flown to a hospital 45 minutes away where she is in critical condition on a ventilator and has a 40% chance of making it. A week ago a girl her age died at the same hospital from the same thing. And she was not as sick. Things are not looking good for this young lady, and it breaks my heart. She has a heart of gold. She completed high school early while she was going to CNA classes full time so she could get a job at a nursing home to help people. And that’s where they say she probably got the infections at work.
She is my cousin. I have watched her grow up. She has babysat my daughter, who adores her because she has this special knack with children, that special touch with them some people just have. Her parents are beside themselves. Her mother is going through radiation treatments every morning for recurrent breast cancer. The whole situation is just unbelievable. And it happened SO FAST.

I’m praying she will have a full recovery quickly. It’s unbelievable how fast those kinds of things can hit someone so young & healthy.
