A Horse Is A Horse….Scrapbook of course!
I got hired to make a horse scrapbook for a Christmas gift for someone. I had never done anything involving horses, and it was with very limited funds, so it was a bit of a challenge. I had no horse supplies at all, so everything had to be purchased to make the album. I did use my Bind-It-All machine for the first time and punched and bound the scrapbook myself instead of purchasing one. The covers I bought from Bind-It-All were too thick for the small 3/8 inch spiral binding I had, so I had to make my own (thinner) covers in the long run.
I then covered THOSE covers with a bandana I bought from Hobby Lobby. I used Staz-On ink to stamp the horse’s name on the front of the book. Got all the quotes from different sites on the internet. Here is the end result. I can’t believe it, but I somehow managed to let this book out of my sight without taking a photo of the cover! UGH. Just picture in your head a square of chipboard covered with a red western style bandana and the name SOCKS in black stamped on the front in big letters, okay?
The lady who commissioned didn’t want anything fancy schmancy or super expensive, so I went with a fairly clean and simple design on this book.

The ribbons that you see and the cute silver charms are from Hobby Lobby. That’s also where I bought the bandana for the cover (that I can’t show you–sorry!). The little wooden horses and boots are from Michaels. I got all the quotes from the internet here, there, and everywhere. That was very time consuming! All of the papers were bought at Hobby Lobby (closest store to me). A lot of the paper is Karen Foster, and the horse theme stickers are from Karen Foster also.
So what do you think?

Well for your first horse project you get 4 stars from me. I have alot to do with horses and that is a quality book.
I really like that there is so much divine inspiration in it. God is over all creation and I do enjoy the horses alot.
You did a great job and I am sure your client enjoyed the finished product. It was very well done.

I tried see your work but was unable to pull it up. Is there anyway you can e-mail it to me. I am doing a Horse scrapbook for my future daughter-in-law and need any ideas you can give me. It sounded really cute with the bandana.
Thanks
