Have you heard of the Nielsons?

I just heard about their situation last week from Tara Whitney’s blog.  I don’t watch the news or read the newspapers because it’s just too depressing, so I missed all the coverage about this husband and wife who were in a private plane crash and were burned very severely in the crash.  The pilot died, the man was burned over 30% of his body, and the woman 80% of her body?  Christian and Stephanie.  There is a blog dedicated to them and their family’s fundraising efforts for them here (click on About Nie at the top to read their story).  At any rate, the whole thing is just horrible.  They have 4 children under the age of 6, who are now staying with the woman’s sister.  She also has her own kids on top of taking care of her nieces and nephews, who I am sure are longing for their own momma and not really understanding where she is.  I’ve been reading her blog.  Frankly, I don’t know where she finds the strength. 

I feel the need to do something even though I don’t know them.  Lots of bloggers are hosting sales and auctions with the proceeds going to the Nielsons.  So I found one that was accepting donations of scrapbook supplies, which is right up my alley!  I have a scrapbook that I’m going to donate.  The auction will be on September 23 at One More Moore.
