Pretty photo organization

February 26th, 2008

I’ve really been working on getting all my photos out of storage boxes and getting them into these little albums while they’re waiting to be made into scrapbook pages.  This way we can still flip through them and enjoy the memories until they go into my scrapbooks.  And, frankly, I’m not going to live long enough to get them all into scrapbooks.  It’s not humanly possible!  I had previously done 2005 and recently finished up with 2006, and 2007 photos.  I’ve come to the conclusion that my husband and I take too many photos.  Can you actually take too many photos?  I didn’t think so, but I’ve been buying these albums at Dollar Tree and Dollar General for the last year and the cost is breaking me!

Once again, like I showed in my previous photos I’m all about the labeling of things!  I’ll have to show you my linen closet sometime!  :)

I keep finding more and more photos!!! I don’t think I can find enough of these to hold all mine. Well, I guess I need to know how many pics they hold before I decide. They look so nice and pretty and organized, but the more I think about it the more I’m liking the idea -breaking down into these smaller albums so we can actually look at the pictures of Asia, then when I want to scrap, use the ones I want. OK, corinna, you win, guess I gotta hit the dollar store, you’re such an enabler!!!! (but i love you anyway)

You can never have too many photos. Period. And they look good in there, and now, I MUST see your linen closet….pretty please?!?!?

Growing up, my parents always took quite a lot of pictures, especially considering how they watched their expenditures and they had to buy film and then of course pay for the processing. It is really neat to be able to look back through the photo albums and find the things I’ve told Jason and the kids about and have pictures to match the memories for them to see.

Unfortunately, I am not as fortunate in getting to share Jason’s memories, because his family NEVER took pictures. I’ve seen his school pictures, and one picture of him at around age 2 with blond curls that I finally broke down and asked his grandmother if I could have. That’s it. I only know him from age 15 and on, other than those lovely school photos.

That has led me to believe that pictures are as important and worth the money and time and place to store them….so I take the pictures for my kids, so they can share their memories with their kids…which, of course, is also why I scrap, and why I JOURNAL.

    Long comment, huh? :)
