A Mother’s Pride

August 30th, 2007

I don’t think I’ve ever been as proud of my daughter as I am right now.  I mentioned in a previous post that she was scheduled to get her hair cut and donate it to Locks of Love, and yesterday she actually did it.  Honestly, I thought she’d chicken out at the last minute.  But she was brave and she was happy about it and she’s thrilled with her new haircut.  And more importantly, she’s thrilled with the idea that there’s going to be a little bald girl very soon that’s going to have a wig made out of her beautiful hair and that THAT little girl is going to be so happy.

I’m so inspired by this kid.  I told her this morning that I’m proud of her because she is doing a KIND thing.  I work hard as a mother trying to instill kindness in my kid, and right now I’m feeling like I’m doing a pretty good job.

Love her new hairdo and how great it is that she would give her ponytail to Locks of Love, I bet you are proud :)
