Why Do YOU Scrapbook?
I’ve been a scrapbooker for 12 years now, long before I knew I’d have a child some day. I did it as a hobby because I loved “crafty” things and documented the previous years of my life and family growing up. I did a lot of scrapbooking about my nieces and nephews before I had a child myself, Christmas, birthdays, the usual stuff.
Now I scrapbook because I can’t NOT scrapbook. It’s my passion. I think about it all the time. If I’m not actually putting together a scrapbook page, I’m organizing my studio, sketching out a future page, or thinking about WHEN I can scrapbook or what I will scrapbook about. I scrapbook because I HAVE to! I’m a big believer of Ali Edwards’ catchphrase that we scrapbookers are “life artists.” I am ALL about telling the story on my scrapbook pages. I have a really hard time editing down my journaling so that I can actually fit my photo on the page. I very rarely do layouts with more than 1 photo because I don’t have room for more than 1 photo. J I could have worse problems though, right? When I’m not here anymore to tell the stories, I’m glad that my daughter and others will be able to read my stories and know how I felt.
Which brings me to why I’m here. I like to talk and write about scrapbooking so figured I’d sign up with a blog and see what happens! So…..let’s talk! J What would you like to talk about? I totally agree. I wish I had more documented information on my ancestors’ lives. I want to know more where I came from and who makes me me. It’s hard to trust my memories without having put them down fresh when they happen!!!
I’m excited–I get to go to CHA this next weekend for the very first time and CAN’T WAIT to see all the new stuff coming out. Does this mean I have to find room for all of it or can I just takeover the rest of the house??? LOL

Yeah – life artist – that’s us! Love those one page layouts too! I seldom do more than one photo unless I’m doing a two page layout.

I scrap because it is an addiction I can live with! I love being the family archiever. I love taking pictures of my family, and telling the story behind the pics. It is my way of telling the generations that follow who we were! I hope they love us!!!
